The boundaries of Valley Village as delineated by the Valley Village Neighborhood Council are Burbank Blvd to the north, the Tujunga Wash to the west, the Ventura Freeway (US 101) to the south and CA 170 to the east. The Valley Village Homeowner’s Association was formed in 1986 following a meeting of about 300 homeowners at Colfax Avenue Elementary School in December 1985. The neighborhood council actively works hard to give a voice to everyone in the community. It wasn’t until 1991 that Valley Village got seven new blue reflective markers from the city of Los Angeles to mark and recognize its neighborhood borders.
Valley Village Homes are typically as unique and as special as the neighborhood. You'll find lots of 3 bedroom or 4 bedroom traditional-style homes as well as some larger builds that have taken place in more recent years. There are also many 2-bedroom condos as well as 3-bedroom condos to be found in Valley Village. The neighborhood, itself, is very walk able. Even though many of the quiet neighborhood streets lack sidewalks, you’ll see neighbors and families out and about for a stroll most times of day.

The neighborhood is home to a fairly significant community of Jewish faith. There are numerous Synagogues (Conservative, Orthodox and Reform) located in the community within walking distance for residents of the area.
